Why Are ST205/75D-15 Tires Only Running on the Center Tread  

Question:

I am a dealer and sell trailers to customers, the last batch of trailers I got and the tires with 45lbs of air in them on a 6x10 trailer the center of the tread is the only thing running on the road, the tire is not flat like normal tires are, and their is some wobble in the tires on the trailer running down the road, I change out a could of tires and put more new ones on the trailer and the same thing, the wobble and the center tread only on the highway, call the dealer I get my trailers from and he doesnt have a answer for this, the size I have taskmaster, st205/75d/15 thanks for any help with this:

Although it is usually recommended that special trailer tires be inflated to their maximum air pressure, it sounds to me like the tires may be over-inflated compared to the weight of the trailer load. Example, tires are rated for 1,820 lbs at 50 psi and the trailer with cargo is only weighing in at 800 lbs. In this case the trailer just isn't heavy enough to flatten out the tire tread a little more.

You might want to try removing a small amount of air to see if this corrects the issue. Just keep in mind that removing too much air can result in excessive heat build up so you will want to be careful.
