Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Ford F-250 Short Bed with Factory Rail Kit
Question:
Can you put the factory 5th wheel prep package on a 2015 f250 with the 6.5foot bed or will it only work on the 8 foot bed.

The factory rail kit is available for the 2015 Ford F-250 with a short bed. Since the truck has a short bed you would need a hitch with a slider that is confirmed to fit these rails like the Reese Elite Fifth Wheel Hitch with Slider part # RP30144 that you referenced.
The slider allows the hitch and trailer to slide back further into the truck bed so that you have the needed clearance to make tight turns in parking lot situations.

I had a B&W goose neck turnover ball hitch on my 2015 F-250 that I attached a Companion 5th wheel hitch to, I have since traded for a 2017 F-350 that has the Ford round puck system. What can I do to use my B&W 5th wheel on this new truck, do I maybe need to mount the %th wheel plate I have on another frame of sort? Thanks
