Sidewinder and 5th Wheel Installation Brackets for a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 with 5-1/2 Foot Bed

Question:

I have a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5ft 8in box, I have a Pro series 15k hitch893-34 with a 10 bolt rail kit893-8. Which installation kit do I need and will I need an extension on my king pin? The king pin box on the trailer is a Lippert serial#030-000034048 and item#176858. From the measurements that I have taken I believe this is a model 1621.

Since you already have the 10 bolt rails you will just need the under bed brackets and hardware for your 2010 GMC Sierra 1500. You can use custom brackets # RP50064. And for the hardware to attach the rails to these brackets you will need # RP58430.

You will definitely need to use a Sidewinder replacement pin box to get clearance to make tight turns. And, depending on the width of the trailer, even a Sidewinder might not be enough.

For a Lippert 1621 pin box you can use Sidewinder # RP34FR rated for 20,000 pounds or the Sidewinder/5th Airborne combo # RP61422 rated for 16,000 pounds. I have included a link to our help article on Sidewinders for you.
