How to Determine What Size Wobble Rollers are Needed to Replace Boat Trailer Rollers

You will have to go out and measure the rollers you have on your trailer if you are looking for an exact replacement to use. You will want to measure the overall diameter of them plus the diameter of the hole that runs down the middle of them.

For example, the Yates Ribbed Wobble Roller # YR500YW-7P is 5 inches in diameter and designed to fit a 7/8 inch roller shaft.

I am looking to make some changes to my floating boat lift. It currently has fixed, hard plastic bunks with center rollers. However, I'm concerned that too much weight from the boat is being put onto the center rollers and the bunk is scratching my boat. Based on my research, I think the best alternative is a wobble roller set up. How do I determine how many rollers or what roller set up is required to hold my 4,000 (fully loaded) boat?

There isn't a specific number of rollers needed, but if you travel longer distances with the trailer I'd use as many as you can along its length to ensure proper weight distribution and prevent any damage on the boat. Two sets (one on each side) at each crossbeam is probably a good start. Check out the customer image on the Yates # YR500YW-9P product page for a good example of this.

@ChrisR Thanks Chris. I will not be traveling down the road with this set up. It is just on a boat lift. I want wobble rollers because it is much easier to launch with those, versus carpet bunks. My boat is fiberglass. Which type of material should I get for the rollers? I want to make sure that the rollers don't do any damage to my boat while sitting on the lift.
