Weight Capacity for the Curt Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier
Question:
Hello, how heavy load I can really load up on the rack? You write 300 lbs, but the customers who bought it, write less. Thank you for your answer. My car: Chevrolet Equinox 3.4 LT, 2005

When using a cargo carrier like the part # C18110 there are two capacities that you will need to consider. First is the weight capacity of the cargo carrier # C18110 which is 300 lbs. That just means the carrier is capable of carrying 300 lbs.
Now the next capacity to consider is the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle you plan to use the carrier on. Also when considering this you need to consider the weight of this carrier at 30 lbs.
The only way you'd be able to use the max capacity of 300 lbs that the # C18110 has would be if the vehicle you have has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, or more.
Otherwise you will have a capacity of less than 300 lbs overall.
