Are the DiversiTech Self-Locking Ball Mounts Secure and Strong Enough for Towing
Question:
It appears that the locking tabs that secure this adjustable ball mount into the hitch receiver do not protrude very far perhaps not even beyond the outside edges of the square receiver tube. How secure is this setup? Have you ever seen this ball mount fail in any way? Thanks for your patience Im just very safety conscious.

Expert Reply:
The Self-Locking pins come out to about flush with the receiver tube, nothing to cut or remove for security purposes. Nothing is completely theft-proof, but this is one of the best systems I have seen.
I have not heard of any in-hitch failures on any of the DiversiTech Self-Locking Ballmounts that we have sold. The pins overlap internally and are made of stainless so they are very strong and corrosion resistant.
