Will a Sidewinder Pin Box Allow Short Bed Ford F-250 to Make Tight Turns While Towing Trailer

Question:

I have a customer with a 40foot RV that is considering an F250 Crew Cab for his tow vehicle and daily driver. Hes concerned about daily driving in the truck with an 8foot box. Will the Sidewinder turret solve this dilemma?

Long bed trucks can be a bit harder to park and maneuver in parking lots. For a daily driver I would probably go with a short bed truck too even though long bed trucks do better for towing fifth wheel trailers.

His best solution would be to go with a Sidewinder pin box on the trailer. This way he'll get the benefits of the short bed for daily driving and still be able to make tight turns with this truck while towing the trailer.

Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.

Another option he has with a short bed truck is a slider hitch, but they are kind of a hassle to deal with since you have to get out of the truck every time you pull into a parking lot and slide the hitch back.
