We currently offer several aftermarket 5th wheel pin boxes that are direct bolt-on replacements for the Lippert 1716.
5th Airborne Premium Fifth Wheel Air Ride Coupler # 5AB-E510-710 is a 21K-rated cushioned pin box that replaces the Lippert 1716 as well as others from Fabex and RBW.
Reese offers an Air-Ride Sidewinder pin box # RP61412 rated for 16K that also bolts on in place of the 1716 pin box, as well as 10 others. In addition to the cushioning benefit it offers the advantage of increasing your turning clearance by 22-inches. Custom wedges are offered for use with it for various 5th wheel hitches.
