Is Transmission Cooler Needed for 2010 Ford Edge
Question:
Although my ford edge doesnt have towing pacage, it already got a trans cooler. I think the trans cooler on my car is the same trans cooler what Edge with towing package. If I tow a 3000# trailer, do I need an extra one? Thanks!

If indeed your Edge already has a transmission cooler, and it is the same one that would have come with the vehicle had it been equipped with the Factory Towing Package, you do not need to add an additional cooler.
I would strongly recommend verifying that the cooler you have is the same as with the tow package. Towing near the upper limit of the vehicle towing capacity is hard on a transmission, having a cooler is essential.
I would also recommend verifying the towing capacity of your Edge. During my research, I came across both a 2000 and a 3500 lb figure stated as the towing capacity of that vehicle. If the capacity of your particular model is 2000 lbs, I would not recommend towing that trailer.

I have a 2013 ford edge sel awd, 3.5L v6. do you know if my vehicle is installed with a transmission cooler? I have equipped it with class 3 tow hitch which is good for 4000 lb but will not be towing much more than 3000lb. I have to go 2500 miles and dont want to run into any trouble along the way. also do you think it would be wise to install a cold air intake or something else that might give the vehicle a little more hp to get through the long haul.thanks James
