Installing Base Plates On 2015 Chevrolet Colorado

The ox base tow bar BX1721. Does this need to be professionally installed by an RV dealer or can i install it myself?

Base Plates like the Blue Ox, part # BX1721 come with detailed instructions and hardware needed to install on your 2015 Chevrolet Colorado 4-Wheel Drive. If your Colorado is not a 4-wheel drive, we do not have any baseplates that will work for you.
Since there is trimming of the air dam required and the removal of the tow hooks, many customers are not comfortable doing the trimming and choose to have the base plates installed by a mechanic who normally has the tools available.
There are 5 items needed when flat-towing a vehicle. You will need the base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, wiring for the towed vehicle, and most states now require supplemental brake systems. You will want to consult your owner's manual to see if there is any additional information or restrictions regarding flat-towing your Colorado.
