Since the cost of the Curt Class IV trailer hitch # 14090 is comparable to some of the other Class III hitches that are available for your 2010 Chevy Express 2500 I would go with it. Basically, you never know what you might need to tow so it is better to have the capacity and not need it than to need it and not have it!
Since you plan on doing some towing I also recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK2216. It comes with a ball mount with a 1 inch rise or 2 inch drop, a 2 inch ball and 2-5/16 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
And if you need to add a trailer connector you can use # 118392 to add a 4-Way flat. I have included links to videos showing how the hitch and wiring install.
