Converting Thor 2510RFL Travel Trailer to LED Type Lighting

Question:

I have a Thor manufactured Jazz travel trailer model #2510FL. I believe the tail lights are your product 30-92-001. I would like to change those as well as the side marker and clearance lights to LED. Do you have any suggestions that they can be changed to without doing major tear down and rebuild as I would like to do it myself. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Switching over from incandescent lights to LEDs is a great idea to reduce your trailer's electrical demand from your tow vehicle wiring harness and to increase the visibility of the trailer. LEDs use about 1/10th the power of standard incandescent lights and for any given input power are brighter.

We offer a wide range of LED-type trailer lights, including clearance/marker lights as well as tail lights. All LED-type light fixtures are visible on the link provided.

The Bargman light you referenced as being the ones on your trailer, part # 30-92-001, uses an 1157 bulb. We also happen to offer this bulb type in several LED versions that can be seen on the other link. You may prefer to just swap out your regular 1157 bulbs for one of these LED types. For example, CIPA offers # CM93236 which is a set of two 12-LED bulb that gives off a bright white light. Colors are also available in case you wish to use an amber bulb in an amber-lens fixture.

It is possible to mix incandescent and LED bulbs but note that the LEDs will typically be brighter than the incandescent bulbs.
