What is Needed to Replace Hydraulic Trailer Brakes with Electric Trailer Brakes
Question:
I am going to change the hydraulic brakes on my KarKaddy trailer to electric brakes. the back mounting plate is not mounted horizontal, so the backing plate on the brakes will be mounted at an angle of 90 degrees. I assume this will still work. On your web site their are no videos at all, none

The angle of the mounting flange should not be an issue as long as you are using the right hand side brake on the right side of the trailer and the left hand assembly on the left side. Assembly # 23-458 is a left hand side and the matching right hand side is # 23-459.
I am not sure exactly what kind of video you are looking for but if it is one on converting hydraulic to electric drum brakes we haven't had the opportunity to perform that particular installation and film it yet.
But we do have a helpful article I have linked for you that explains all the parts needed to add electric drum brakes to a trailer. Apart from adding the electrical components, including a brake controller on the vehicle, the only other concern is the hub and drum assemblies. Some drums can be used with either hydraulic or electric brakes. Others can only be used with one or the other.
If you do need to replace the hub and drum assemblies then I would need to know the inner and outer bearing numbers stamped into the sides of the bearings.
