5-Bike Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Carrier for 5 Womens Bikes on a 2004 Nissan Xterra

Question:

If I purchase the thule apex 5, I may go on trips where we will load 5 womens bikes. Do I need to purchase an adapter bar for each one? Also, will the built-in lock reach around all of that sufficiently? This would be for a 2004 nissan xterra. Thanks.

You would need 1 adapter bar per bike if you plan on carrying women's bikes on a hanging style bike carrier such as the Apex XT, # TH9026XT.

On the Apex XT, the cable lock really only needs to be able to lock the last bike because if it is secured with the lock you would not be able to remove any of the other bikes.

If you go with the Apex XT I recommend adapter bar # 64005. I have used pretty much all of the adapter bars and this one has been the easiest to use. I have linked a video that shows how it works.
