Recommended Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier for a 2014 Honda Odyssey
Question:
Hi, Yakima carrier To carry two adult road bikes and couple of kid bikes. Would this be a good carrier for road bikes that do not have a straight top tube? If not do you have a hitch rack to recommend for this type of bike? Thanks

The hitch bike rack I recommend is the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR it has anti-sway cradles and a tilting option so you can gain access to your cargo area. I like that the Hitching Post Pro can tilt to provide easy access to your cargo area and fold when the rack is not in use. The Yakima RidgeBack hitch mount bike rack # Y02458 you referenced is a fine bike rack. It's really a matter of personal preference. They both have great price points.
Any bike that has oddly shaped frames, you can use an adapter bar like # Y02531. It adapts women's, alternative, oversize and some children's bike frames to fit various bike racks. It will attach to your bike seat post and handlebar stern post and the horizontal bar provides attachment point for bike rack. You would need one adapter per bike.
The weight capacity of the Thule Hitch Post Pro # TH934XTR is 35 pounds per bike and can fit 1-1/4 inch and 2-inch hitch receivers.
I included several videos and a informative article for you too.
