Does a Brake Controller have to be Spliced into a 2001 Ford F-150  

Question:

Where does one look for Red Stoplight wire, and what determines if it need connected to light green wire? I have rear connection and connection under dash. Already purchased POD 80500 and approp. harness 733035 3035-P.

You will not need to splice into anything to install a brake controller on your 2001 Ford F-150. The wiring harness you are using, # 3035-P plugs into the port on the truck and has all of the functions needed to operate the brake controller. No splicing needed for this installation.

If the controller is not working when you step on the brake pedal then you likely have a blown stop light or CHMSL (center high mount stop lamp) fuse. Use the truck owners manual to find the fuse locations.
