How to Pick Out a Replacement Hub for a 8-133 Hub

Question:

I have a set of trailer axles which have a hub number of 8-133 with 12inch electric brakes with 2inch shoes. The brake back plate is welded to the axle. I would like to use your 8 lug hub #42866uc3 which should fit the spindle which has 1 3/4inch inner and 1 1/4inch outer dimensions. I would like to know if you can supply the needed replacement parts to rebuild the electric brakes. I can supply photos if needed. Thank you for your help,

My understanding is that the 8-133 hub is a mobile home axle hub. Typically these hubs are very hard to find replacement parts for since they are designed for one time use. However, there is still a chance we can find you a replacement hub.

In order to pick out the correct hub assembly for a trailer you are going to need know a few key pieces of information. The first thing you will need to know is the bolt pattern of your hubs. This is so you get a hub that is compatible with your wheels. I attached an FAQ article on determining bolt pattern for you to check out.

Next thing you will need to know is what spindle you have on your trailer. In order to do that you can either get the inner and outer bearing numbers from a hub or use a dial caliper to get exact measurements of the spindle. The measurements needed are the parts of the spindle where the bearings ride.

If you get back to me with that information I will help you pick out the right hub assemblies. Or, you can follow the link I attached that will take you to the page that has all of our replacement hubs.

You would want to first select the bolt pattern that you have, next select the inner bearing you have, followed by selecting your outer bearing, and then all the correct hubs will be listed.

Send me pics of the brake assemblies as well. Since they are welded on they don't seem like they would be something we would carry replacement parts for. But you never know.
