Hitch Trailer Before or After Filling Air Spring on a Fifth Gear 5th Airborne Pin Box Coupler
Question:
I have installed my 5th airborne that I bought from you folks. The install was easy. My question is what should be the air pressure on the doughnut and do you air it hitched or unhitched ?? If hitched does that mean you depleat the air when unhitched. Instructions are unclear.

First, hitch the trailer to the truck, then add air. Proper pressure level depends on many factors like truck used and what trailer the Airborne is on. Start at 80-100 PSI, if the ride is too stiff, let some pressure out. Too soft, add some more. Do not ever exceed 120 PSI. If you cannot get a good ride, then the air spring may need to be adjusted. See page 4 of the instructions.
I would let most of the pressure out before you un-hitch the trailer from the truck.
