Is the Wiring for Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Long Enough for a 2002 Chevy Silverado Long Bed
Question:
I have a chevy 2500HD with a 8 ft. box. Will the standard kit work or should I order a 5 Ft. extension?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The wire harness that comes with the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002 is 19 feet, 7 inches long. It will most likely be long enough for your 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 long bed but if you want peace of mind adding the extension # HM3100504060 would be a good idea and it will ensure that you don't have to route the wiring in a manner that you normally wouldn't if you had longer wire. I have linked a video showing installation of this system for you.
