Will a Sidewinder Pin Box Help Make My Truck and Trailer Easier to Back Up In Tight Spaces

Question:

I am purchasing a Jayco 27.5 RLTS fifth wheel and have a Ford F250 V10 truck. To back my trailer into my driveway, I have to jack knife the frailer at 90 degrees to accomplish the this. Will this pin box work for me? What model do yiou recommend? Should I consider any additional anti sway equipement?

Sidewinders are great for giving additional clearance so that a trailer can be backed up to a 90 degree angle. But also they improve the way the trailer tracks behind the tow vehicle so backing up the trailer actually becomes much easier.

Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have know in order to pick out the correct one. For example, the part # RP61420 that you referenced is designed to work as a replacement for a Fabex 663 and 665, Lippert 0719, 1621 and 1621HD, and M&M 663 and 665

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
