Can a Reese Elite Series Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch be Installed in Above the Bed Rails
Question:
I have this hitch with slider and I bought a new truck that has traditional rails all really in the bed a was wondering if they sell legs for it that I can attach to it so I can use it with the rails already in my new truck and I dont need the slider base anymore since my truck has 8 ft box now any help would be appreciated thanks jarrod

The Reese Elite Series and Signature series hitches such as # RP30144 can only be installed in the Reese below the bed puck system so you would not be able to use it with regular above the bed rails.
The two options you have are to install an underbed kit in the new truck or use a different hitch in the new truck. If your truck happens to be a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 long bed you would need # RP30074 to use the hitch you have. You can still use the slider base you just won't have to slide it back.
Removing the installation kit that is on the truck now and installing the underbed system will be the least expensive option.
