How to Determine Trailer Tire Weight Capacity
Question:
hi I am trying to fit our a trailer frame which has been made for me to fit two disabled buggies. What my question is how do I know if the wheels fitted are ok for the job. Is there a weight gauge or something Any help with this would be great fully received because I am struggling.

On the sidewall of the tires there should be a weight capacity listed as well as an air pressure maximum value. Trailer tires should always be inflated to their maximum tire pressure otherwise the capacity of the tire diminishes when below max psi.
Wheels can be a bit harder to determine the capacity. However, most of the time the wheels will have higher capacities than the tires. So if the tire capacity is good the wheel capacity should be good as well. If you can track down a manufacturer or a part number on the wheel you can look up the capacity that way as well. On the back side of the rim there may be a sticker or plate that has the capacity or part number listed there.
I attached a help article on trailer tires for you to check out as well.
