Can I Use a Derale Electric Fan Even if The Temperatures do not Match My Vehicle Thermostat
Question:
This product says that it will automatically turn on at 180 degrees and turn it self off at 165 degrees. My vehicle has a 192 degree thermostat, what would you recomend?

The Derale 16 Inch Dyno-Cool fan should work fine for you. The 192 degree thermostat means that coolant in your motor is kept in the engine block until the water hits 192 degrees. At that point the thermostat opens and allows the coolant to begin flowing through the radiator. When the 192 degree coolant gets into the radiator, it will hit the temperature probe for the the fan and it will kick on. The fan will continue to run until the probe reads 165 degrees. The thermostat may already be closed, but this is not a problem.
If you are replacing a mechanical or belt-driven fan, you should notice a few improvements. The engine should cool down more quickly and the system should be less noisy than a belt-driven fan system. You may even see a slight increase in fuel economy as a belt-driven fan uses some of the engine power to operate where as an electric fan uses the electricity that is already being generated by the alternator.
