Hi, can I use the weight distribution # PS49582 with the 1inch diameter shank of my 2 5/16 ball ? thanks

The Pro Series RB3 Weight Distribution System # PS49582 that you referenced requires the use of a hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank. Using a hitch ball with a smaller diameter shank will cause damage to the head of the system.

My uncle had a shop install a hitch ball with too small of a shank on it in his WD system and the extra movement caused the head assembly to crack.

For a hitch ball you will want the part # C40030 to use with the # PS49582.
