Can a 215/60-8 Size Tire Replace a 5.70-8 Tire for a Pop Up Camper Trailer

Question:

Hi, I have a 1986 Starcraft Starlite 17 that has been lifted 7 1/2 inches. The original 5.70-8 tire and wheel combo now is too small, and Id like to go larger. Im towing with a 1989 Chevy Suburban which has a 4inch lift and 35inch tires. Will the Kenda 215/60-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8inch White Wheel - 4 on 4 tire and wheel combo be a good replacement for me? Id like something wider than the original tires, and have plenty of room for the height at this point. It looks like the narrowest part from the hub flange to the axle swingarm is 4 1/2 Thanks,

The main difference between a 5.70-8 trailer tire and a 215/60-8 will be the width. Your current tire is about 5.9 inches wide and the 215/60-8 is about 8.9 inches wide. They will both be about the same height. If your current wheel setup has more than 1-1/2 inches of clearance from the inner sidewall of the tire to the frame of your trailer you would have clearance for the # AM3H290 to fit.
