Is Installing a Catback System on a 2009 Honda Accord Difficult
Question:
I have the 2009 Honda Accord EXL-V6 3.0L Coupe automatic trans. How difficult is this part part # MF16817 to install, relatively? Does it require any welding, modification of holes, drilling, etc? If I have a decent socket wrench and a jack/ramps, can I do this myself in my garage? Or is this something that requires a qualified mechanic shop with a proper lift, tools, etc. ? Thanks!

The MagnaFlow Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust System # MF16817 does not require any welding or drilling for installation. The hardest part of the installation will probably be removing the old exhaust as it sometimes can be stubborn. If your current exhaust doesn't look overly rusty it shouldn't be too hard to remove the old system. I would recommend keeping a cheater bar nearby for help with leverage on the bolts just in case as well as some penetrating lube like WD40 or Liquid Wrench.
From personal experience working on exhaust components can either go very smoothly, or it can be a total bear. Especially if the old exhaust is being stubborn and you don't have access to a lift.
For more information on the install process check out the instructions I attached as well.
