Will this tent work with my SUV as it has a top and bottom tailgate? Also can both tailgates be closed while the tent is attached? Thanks

Yes, the Rightline Gear SUV Tent # RL110907 is a confirmed fit for your 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. Both the tailgate and the rear door can be open or closed with the tent attached. The tent stays standing and ready for camping when your vehicle is detached and it is treated to meet the fire resistance standards of CPAI-84 and the Canadian Tents Regulations.
You will attach the upper straps to the roof rack rear bar or to the wipers if no rack is present.The lower straps, labelled F and G in the linked instructions, will either have to be removed or repositioned to allow you to close the gate. You might be able to route them underneath the gate's hinge when it is open which would allow them to remain attached with the gate closed.
Since this tent works with a whole bunch of vehicles you can probably find "creative" ways to route the straps in your particular application.
Do note that any gaps could allow entry of bugs and critters.
