Do Trailer Suspension Hangers have to Be Moved to Go with a Longer Axle
Question:
I am trying to put a wider axle under my trailer. It was a pop up camper at one point in its life and the tires come up through the deck. If i widen the axle will I have to move the spring purchase out as well or will it remain the same? The trailer is a 6x12. Thanks for your time.

Expert Reply:
If you wanted to go with a longer axle and not have to change the suspension hanger locations you would just need to order an axle with the length that you want and the same spring center to center dimension as your current axle.
As long as the spring center to center dimension is the same the new axle will bolt right up.
I attached a link to a page that has all of the axles we carry.
