Which grounds did you check? There are at least 4 ground connections that you need to make sure are working. One at each of the lights, the ground wire that goes from the trailer frame to the trailer connector, and the ground that goes from the vehicle frame or body to the vehicle connector. Any of these grounds could be the culprit. Remember, paint and rust can insulate these ground connections so make sure the eye terminals have direct metal contact.
If everything else is wired properly and you have adequate signal coming from the truck connector, there is no reason why the lights should not work. I have included a link to a video of a similar kit from Optronics being installed that you may want to watch in order to double check your work to make sure there is nothing that was missed. The lights in this particular kit are grounded through the mounting studs so they will not have ground wires.
