When choosing an electric fan for your vehicle you will want to make sure to get a fan that will give you the correct Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) for the size of your engine. The CFM is how much air is being moved through your radiator in one minute.
The typical CFM requirement for a 4 cylinder engine is 1,200 to 1,600. If your 1995 Ford Ranger is used for towing you will want additional airflow. It is always recommended to go with the highest rated fan. I am including a link to a FAQ page on electric fans.
You will need to measure to determine the room you have to mount the fan on your Ford Ranger. The measurement on the Derale 14 Inch Dyno-Cool Curved-Blade Electric Fan, part # D18914 is 14-7/8 inches wide x 14 inches tall x 3-1/8 inches deep. It has a CFM rating of 1,230. It can be mounted in front of or in back of the vehicles radiator.
Another recommendation would be the Derale 14 Inch High-Output, Electric, Single Radiator Fan, part # D18214.
This fan measures 14-1/2 inches wide x 14-1/2 inches tall x 2-5/8 inches deep. It is a two speed fan and has a CFM rating of 2,100 at the high speed and 1,500 at the low speed. It also can be mounted in front of or in back of the radiator. This would be great for if your Ranger has a 6 cylinder engine.
