How to Pick Out a Weight Distribution System for a Horse Trailer

Im looking to get a sway bar, weight distribution thing for my horse trailer but im not sure which one i need, I have a F150 2007 and a three horse slant..steel.. it already has the anti-sway bar brackets, where the chains attach I just need to know what I need to buy, and pounds.. as im confused with that.. please any help would be awesome

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. In your case you will need to load the trailer with horses to get an accurate rating. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached an FAQ on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Once you have determined the tongue weight of your trailer check out the link I attached that will take you to a page that has all of the WD systems we offer. Once there you will need to select your tongue weight from the filter to see the properly rated systems.
