Hitch Extender Recommendation that Adds Rise to the Hitch Accessory
Question:
Hello I recently sent an email about a product for my 2013 Honda odyssey but I must have d the response I got from etrailer. Im looking for an extension to to the trailer hitch that I purchased from you last year. The problem Im having is that the basket I put on the back of my Honda is too low to the ground. Im looking for an extender to help raise the basket maybe a few inches. The email that I got from you a few weeks ago had a product that raised the basket but it also had a piece that curved towards the floor. I need something that can raise the basket without anything going lower than the hitch itself. Thanks

The closest adapter that we have to your needs is the Malone Dual Hitch Extender, # MPG544. This adapter fits a 2 inch x 2 inch trailer hitch receiver and it provides a 2 inch x 2 inch receiver with a rise of 7-1/2 inches. Please note, only the bottom receiver on this adapter can be used for towing. The upper receiver should only be used for hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks or cargo carriers.
Also, it is important to note that using a hitch extender will reduce the hitch's weight capacity by 50 percent. If your trailer hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 600 lbs, then it will only have a maximum capacity of 300 lbs with this extender. This is the case with all hitch extenders.
