How to Pick Out the Correct Rise/Drop Ball Mount to Tow Trailer Level
Question:
I have a question concerning hitch , Ive seen several articles that state you include the height of the ball in calculating difference and several that dont state you do that. Can you verify which is correct. For example, my truck hitch height is 27, my level trailer height is 17, so the difference is 10. However, if the ball is say 2 inches, you add that to the difference, making it a 12 inch . Any clarification would be great.

I attached an FAQ for you to check out that details all of this, but what you need to do is get your truck and your trailer on level ground and take a couple measurements.
You will need to measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on the trailer when it is sitting level, and then measure from the ground to the top of the hitch opening. Whatever the difference is the amount of rise/drop you need.
