Can Thule Passage 3-Bike Arms be Used on the Passage 2-Bike Carrier

is it OK to replace the 2 bike arms with 3 bike arms?

The arms from the 3-bike version of the Thule Passage trunk mount bike rack would fit in the body of the 2-bike version of the Passage. But a lot also depends on the vehicle. Some vehicles can handle the weight of the 3-bike version when it is loaded. Others are limited to the 2-bike version only. I would need to know the year, make, and model of the vehicle to know.
