Brake Controller Recommendation for 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Quad Cab
Question:
I will be pulling a trailer on a hitch trailer 5300 dry trailer 30 foot what is the best brake should I buy. HELP!

Brake controllers are not vehicle specific, so virtually any controller would work with your Ram. This being said, I would recommend a proportional type controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy, part # 90885.
A proportional controller features an internal sensor that can determine the rate at which the tow vehicle is braking, and will then send the appropriate amount of voltage to the trailer brakes so that the trailer and vehicle are braking at the same rate. This provides for safer braking, as well as causing less wear and tear on the braking systems.
The Prodigy is very easy to use, which makes it one of # 3021-P. The adapter would plug into the connector located under the dash behind the emergency brake pedal.
We have an installation video showing a controller being installed on a 2009 Ram, which uses a different Brake Control Wiring Adapter, but the install procedure would be the same. I will provide a link to the video below.
