Compatibility of Roadmaster # RM-2120 Magnetic Tow Lights with 2011 Cadillac SRX

Question:

Received a magnetic lite kit RM2120 along with a base plate and other items. Question is, the installation sheet refers to lights on a vehicle that you are towing. With these magnetic lights the towed vehicle should not even be mentioned except where to place the lights. These magnetic lights are a combinationation of turn signal,brake lights, and taillights are they not. The motorhome has seperate turn signals and i towed a 2003 GMC Envoy with seperate turn signals before but did not want to wire this 2011 Cadillac SRX. Please tell me if these lights will work without having to wire anything else or having a converter.

When the # RM-2120 lamps are installed on your vehicle, they will operate completely independently of the lights on the towed vehicle.

As long as your RV has a properly installed 4-way trailer connector for the magnetic lamps to plug into, all should work just fine. You mentioned that the RV has a 'separate' lighting system, which would use an amber turn signal bulb or have an amber turn signal lens. A properly installed 4-way will be already converted so the turn signal and brake lamp signals are combined on a single circuit, which is exactly how the RM-2120 magnetic tow lamps operate.
