What is the Country of Origin for Curt Trailer Hitch Ball # C40030
Question:
Could you tell me where the Curt trailer hitch balls are manufactured? I would really like something Made in the USA or anywhere other than China. Thanks,

Expert Reply:
The Curt trailer hitch balls are all made in China. Many trailer hitch receivers too are made outside the U.S. but Curt does manufacture their hitches stateside.
The 2-5/16-inch hitch ball you referenced, Curt # C40030, has a 15K gross trailer weight capacity. For a comparably-rated 2-5/16-inch chrome-plated ball that is made here in the U.S. you can use B&W part # BWHB94004. This is rated for 30,000-lbs. Its shank is 1-1/4-inches in diameter and 2-1/2-inches long.
