Fit of Glacier Chain # PWH2214SC Snow Chains on 245/75/16 Tires

Question:

Hello, I purchased a set of Glacier square link tire chains model (Discontinued) PWH3310SLC, from you, for my 2012 Tacoma 4wd double cab with 265/65/17 all season tires and they fit fine. I would like to get a separate set of snow tires and 16inch rims for when I tow a trailer for snowmobiling. My question is will these chains fit a 245/75/16 tire. That size is not listed on your website with these chains, but when I compare the overall dimensions of these two tires they are very close to identical.

According to Glacier Chain, the correct size Square Link Snow Tire Chains for a P245/75-16 tire would be part # PWH2821SC.

Your existing chains are a little too big to correctly fit your snow tires. You want snow chains to fit as snug to the tires as possible, otherwise steering, suspension or brake components could be damaged.

I'd also recommend checking your owner's manual to see if Toyota has any advice or prohibitions regarding the use of tire chains. Some vehicle manufacturers recommend using a Class S chain that extends no more than 15 mm above or to the inside of the tire.
