Weight Distribution and Sway Control for 5500 lb Trailer with 725 lb Tongue Weight
Question:
Hello, I am looking for a new set up to tow a 5500lb trailer with 725lb tongue weight. I am towing with a 04 Dodge Durango with the 5.7 hemi. I would like a recommendation for what set up to use. I would like superior sway control. Thanks for your help.

If the 725 pound figure represents the maximum tongue of your trailer when fully loaded, I would recommend the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System, part # 66073. This system combines the High Performance Trunnion Weight Distribution System with the Dual Cam Sway Control System. The Dual Cam system is the top of the line in sway control, and will prevent trailer sway before it can occur.
The system is specifically designed for trailers with tongue weights from 400 to 800 lbs.
If you suspect that the tongue weight would be over 800 lb when the trailer is fully loaded, we offer the same system for trailer tongue weights ranging from 600 to 1200 lbs, part # 66074.
