Recommended Thule Roof Cargo Box to Fit 2014 Dodge Durango with OEM Crossbars

Question:

Looking for a Thule cargo box to carry skis and other gear. I have around 51inch from front crossbar to the seam on rear hatch. Cross bar is as far forward as it can go. No issue with width or distance between bars as I have 26inch between bars. Question is there are a few Thule boxes that would be very close to allowing hatch to open but not positive because there are a few factors such as height of box on bars and positioning on bars. Can you check with Thule and see for sure what my options are? I know the Pulse L will fit but was hoping the Pulse Alpine 613 might fit if positioned forward to allow rear hatch to open. Thanks!

According to Thule, the following cargo boxes will fit your roof if the center of front crossbar to rear hatch seam dimension is no greater than 51 inches. Since you'll be carrying skis, I'll also give you the interior length dimension so you can ensure your skis will fit.

Force XT Sport, part # TH6356B, internal length 68-7/8 inches, too short for skis
Pulse L, part # TH615, maximum ski length 71 inches
Pulse M, part # TH614, internal dimension 63 inches, probably too short for most skis
Sidekick, part # TH78GC, 48 inside dimension, skis wouldn't fit

So, for carrying skis, the Sonic XL, part TH635B and the Pulse L # TH615 would be your best bet as long as your skis aren't longer than the dimensions I've shown.

The Pulse Alpine is just too long (by 4-1/4 inches) to work without your rear hatch hitting it, according to Thule.
