Recommended RV 5th Wheel Hitch Mounted Bike Rack
Question:
I am looking for a 2 bikes, RV 5th wheel hitch mount - 2.0 bike rack which can handle mountain bikes with the offset center bar. Most likely a wheel typeinch rack mount. I want the rack to be secured and lockable also. I see many manufactures on your site i.e. Swagman XTC-2, Pro Series Q-Slot, Prorack 2. Hollywood and MaxxHaul. All look like they may work? Confusing ?? I would like you recommendation. Each bike weighs around 40lbs.

My favorite bike rack to recommend for an RV's hitch is the Let's Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # LGA77FR. It holds the bikes by the tires, like you need, and is rated for up to 75 pounds total. It will fit as long as you have a 2", Class III trailer hitch.
For security, the V-Lectric includes keyed-alike locks deter theft of your bikes and the rack.
The bike racks you mentioned wouldn't be rated to fit a RV because a bike rack placed on the rear of an RV or towed trailer will be subjected to a substantial amount of shaking and bouncing, over and above what would be experienced if it were installed on a car, truck or SUV. There is more potential for failure if you used a bike rack that isn't rated for an RV.
