New Versus Old Tire Sizes 8 Inch Wheel
Question:
Hi in your video you answer the question about 18.5x8.5-8 and you recommend AM3H200 that is listed on your web site as 165/65-8 where as your AM3H290 lists 215/60-8 for 61.95. Am I correct or am I misunderstanding your information. You advise that 18.5x8.5-8 are old numbers and they cross to the 215/60-8, is that correct? thanks so much

You're speaking of two different tire sizes.
18.5x8.5-8 is the old tire size for today's modern equivalent 215/60-8 size. The 16.5x6.5-8 is the old size, today's equivalent would be 165-65-8. The # AM3H200 is a 165/65-8 (old size 16.5x6.5-8) and the # AM3H290 is size 215/60-8 which used to go by 18.5x8.5-8.
I hope that's cleared it up for you.
