Parts Needed to Install Disc Brakes on a Trailer with Straight 1-Inch Spindles
Question:
what will be the right kit or parts to install disk brakes on 1in straight spindle?

Helpful Expert Reply:
We do offer kits to install hydraulic disc brakes on trailers without brakes, and the item you referenced, Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR35D, is one such kit for a trailer with a #84 spindle and wheels that are 13-inches or more in diameter.
However, we do not have a kit for 1-inch straight spindles. If you refer to the linked article you can see the components needed, which include brake flanges, the disc/caliper assemblies, an actuator with the required 1600-psi pressure to operate disc brakes and a brake line kit.
If you click on the hyperlink for Spindles you will be able to view the spindle sizes for which we offer kits. The smallest is a 1-1/4-inch diameter. You will need to replace the 1-inch spindles on the trailer with new ones for which we offer a disc brake kit. The new spindles will have to be welded in place by a qualified professional welder after the old ones are cut off. It is absolutely critical that the new spindles be welded on perfectly concentric and straight; this requires specialized jigs and is best left to a pro.
I suggest first a review of the article so you have a complete understanding of the project's requirements. The links within the article will make it easier to review the available components. You will need to know your axles' capacity in order to choose brakes of the appropriate weight rating.
