Tire Chains for a 2009 Mazda 5 with Cinturato P7 205/50R17 Tires
Question:
Im concerned with the issue of clearance and size of snow chains for my 2009 Mazda 5. Finding replacement tires after the factory Toyos tires needed replacement was a little more difficult than Ive ever had in the past with other vehicles. Can you please assist with this or lead me in the right direction? This isnt something we need hardly ever except for an emergency trip that takes me over a couple known passes over mountains that will require me having them on hand. Snow tires are not an option for this trip. Thank you in advance for your help.

For tire chains a lot depends on what type of conditions you will be driving in and how often you need to use the chains. If you just want to have some chains in the vehicle and will rarely use them then going with cable style chains, # PW1034, with rubber adjuster # PW99 would work just fine. These chains are not going to offer the best traction or last the longest but will do in a pinch.
All of these chains are Class S rated meaning they need the least amount of clearance. Vehicles that have clearance restrictions would use Class S chains.
Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for more specific use of chains on your 2009 Mazda 5.
