For the price of the product, packaging was terrible, product arrived with paint missing from several large areas due to shipping damage. Box was barely intact when it arrived. Also was missing one of the large grade 8 4.25” long bolts. So after a trip to the hardware store to replace the missing bolt and buy some paint to fix the damaged finish, got it installed pretty easy.

Ford

Excellent underbody hitch system. Installation went well once the body was off. If your installing on a late model ford you may want to be sure you have new bed bolts available. Ford says they are not reusable for some reason but it did not matter in my case. Even though I put PB rust blaster on 2 days in advance the cage nuts broke the cage and spun. Ended up having to grind the tops off to remove the body and then using some heat to custom bend a box end wrench to get into the box frame so I was able to remove the (now) studs. This was on a 4 year old truck but New England winters at work here i’m sure. Once the body was off installation was a breeze. Fit is perfect.

I have about 12,000 miles clocked in on this system with my 5th wheel RV and could not be happier. Having tability to remove the 5th wheel hitch in about a minute and have a clear bed is great.

The Reese Under-Bed Gooseneck trailer hitch was exactly the same as the Ford product (which was not available at all when I made this purchase)! All of the bolt holes lined up perfectly with my F350 frame and was actually very easy to install. Please note: you will need a 250 ft-lbs torque wrench to properly tighten a few of the frame bolts! The product was shipped quickly and arrived as scheduled! I love E-trailer!

Wish there paperwork with the QR code would actually work for instructions but if your taken on this project that should be your last concern and etrailer has instructions on there site. Kit came in like it traveled world few times with box barley on item but glad everything was still inside box. Had to purchase an 24 ext torx socket and 3” and 4.25” hole saw online. Had car lift so cheated on that one to lift bed but it’s really light so couple guys could blocked it up if need be after all it’s aluminum. Touched up bolt heads with bed liner and out door about 4 hours. Had I purchased truck new would of got factory hitch like my other truck as it’s much more cost effective than adding after the fact but didn’t have option on this one.

by:

Installed without issues, have pulled a 12k lb 5th wheel across the southeast on several trips already. 5k miles of towing no issues. works same as factory for 2022 f250. worst part was tightening the frame bolts, unexpectedly easy was lifting the bed off the frame with 2x4 pieces. used a factory puck style reese companion set to the highest setting without issues. don't forget the bed wiring kit while you have the bed raised off the frame.

by:

Missing a backet in the first order. The reorder I was sent a bag of bolts.

I had to buy this because the factory-ordered truck I ordered was being delayed because they did not have these in stock. Interestingly I found out that Reese makes these for Ford. the only difference was the Ford stamp on the factory-installed hitch. The installation was straightforward if you have the tools and the room to do it.

by:
2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Item was shipped and received in a very reasonable time. Installation was per the instructions. However, I did stray in one area. The 2 bolts supplied to be used for alignment were really useless. The hole in the truck frame and the matching hole in the hitch are .5". The bolts are .388". The difference is .112" which certainly doesn't give you an "alignment". Instead I used .5" spacers to align the hitch to the truck. I could have aligned it by eyesight better than with the supplied bolts. The instructions aren't clear for alignment. In fact, they tell you to use the 2 blts for alinment but never to remove them. Reese could have done better in this one area. The OEM part ships with alignment pins.

Dealing with the people at etrailer was great. They answered my questions. Also the item shipped really quickly. I had my order in about 4 days from the time I placed the order. I am very happy with my experience. The only issue I found was the packaging was torn when it arrived. Due to the weight it is understandable.

by:

Product came quickly and everything was there. The only compliant I could possibly make was the hardware bag was torn open inside the box and the hardware was all over the place. I checked and it was all there so no big deal at all. I was also very impressed with how quickly it shipped (same day I ordered it) and how quickly it arrived (4 days). I’m a happy customer. My second big purchase from etrailer and I will continue to shop here!

by:

Had my local ford dealership install this. Took about 3.5 hours. Buy the extra pair of supports if your truck did not come from the factory with them welded on. Hard to find but available on [resell site].

by:

Fit perfectly. Would buy again.

by:

Let me begin by saying I’m not the easiest person to satisfy. I always have a million questions. Terri N was so patient with me. Answered all my questions. When she couldn’t she called the supplier herself and got the answer. I haven’t installed yet. But customer service is excellent. I would highly recommend. They are knowledgeable. Thank you Terri.

Very good set up! Only complaint would be the little rubber trim pieces, they dont seem to sit all the way down and hay, dirt etc get under them. Not a big deal at all, thanks for the quality product!

  • Does the Reese Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Come with Inside Brackets for a 2020 Ford F-250
In regards to the Reese Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # RP39FR, the hitch does not come with the inside brackets as these are included (welded to the frame) from the manufacturer on most trucks. That said, there are a very small amount of trucks out there which don't have these inner brackets and in which case you can obtain them from Reese directly using the part number 30182.

  • Does Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch For A 2021 Ford F-350 Super Duty Include Socket
Though the special bed bolt socket will not come with The Reese Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit # RP39FR it comes with everything that you will need to install it on your 2021 Ford F-350 Super Duty. The socket is included. When welded on OEM frame brackets and maximum capacity brackets # RP88FR you have a weight capacity of 35,000 pounds. I attached an installation video link below.

  • Adding Gooseneck Ball to Aftermarket Puck System in 2019 Ford F-250
The only underbed puck system we offer for the 2019 Ford F-250 is the Reese Underbed Gooseneck Hitch/Puck system, part # RP39FR which includes the gooseneck hitch. I don't know of an add-on underbed gooseneck, but we might have a solution for you. If the underbed puck system you have has the pucks spaced like the Ford OEM pucks, with center to center dimensions of 30 inches across and 13 inches front to back, also center to center, the # RP30845 would mount in your pucks and allow you...

  • Reese Under-Bed Puck System Compatibility With A 2024 Ford F-250
Hi Dan, Reese hasn't had a 2024 F-250 in yet to test fitment of the Reese Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit # RP39FR. The brackets needed to connect the 30180 to the frame are part 30182 or # RP27FR. With both the 2023 and 2024 models using the same gooseneck hitches there's likely no change in fitment and this would work with a 2024, but no one has confirmed it yet.

The only difference between them is the overall weight capacity depending on the brackets you use.
