Features:

  • Ceramic catalyst engineered for maximum airflow
    • Honeycomb design and a thick, detailed coating process allow the converter to break down as much exhaust as possible
    • Greater concentrations of catalytically active materials set it apart from other converters by increasing the volume of chemical reactions that break down harmful gases
  • Body is computer generated and laser welded
    • Fabricated from 1 whole tubular section
    • Spun tightly around the ceramic catalyst to keep the ceramic in alignment and to create compact shape
  • Boasts thick-gauge material that forms the inlet and outlet for maximum durability

Specs:

  • Overall dimensions: 8" long x 5" wide
    • Body length: 3"
  • Inlet/outlet diameter: 3"
  • Inlet/outlet position: center/center

MagnaFlow engineers its heavy metal converters with maximum airflow in mind. The large surface area of the honeycomb ceramic catalyst combines with a thick, detailed coating process to allow the most exhaust to flow through the converter. In contrast with most converters, these heavy metal converters contain greater concentrations of catalytically active materials, thereby increasing the volume of chemical reactions that break down harmful gases. Innovative technology allows each catalyst to both oxidize and reduce harmful emissions.

Computer generated and laser welded, this converter has a tubular body fabricated from one whole section, spun tightly around the ceramic catalyst to keep the ceramic in proper alignment and to create its innovative compact shape. Thick-gauge material forms the inlet and outlet for maximum durability.

  • Difference Between Metallic and Ceramic MagnaFlow Catalytic Converters
I contacted our representative at MagnaFlow about the differences in the metallic and ceramic catalytic converters. The representative informed me that the metallic catalytic converters, like part # MF59956 are a bit stronger and would be good for applications where the catalytic converter is close to the header as they can handle more heat. The metallic ones are usually used on OBD1 applications. The ceramic catalytic converters, such as part # MF99659HM, are not as strong and usually...
