Today, we're going to take a look at these Lincoln MKZ metal trailer hitch receiver cover for two inch hitches. Now, hitch covers are fun to show your pride in your vehicle and they look cool, but they do more than just accessorize the vehicle. This hitch cover will help keep dirt out of your hitch receiver, prevents rust from building up, and so you can easily install your ball mounts and other hitch accessories when you need them. This hitch cover is a great way to protect your receiver and still express yourself all in one. Application on this one is a two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver. You can see this is an officially licensed Lincoln MKZ hitch cover.
This will slide into your hitch receiver. It helps keep out dirt and prevent the corrosion. You can see the Lincoln logo and the MKZ is all in black on a nice chrome plated plate here that adds subtle style to your vehicle.The base on this is a stainless steel base, so it'll resist rust and corrosion. It comes with everything laid out here on the table. Do you know what it has It has the three different thickness foam gaskets here to help eliminate rattle when you install this.
At the end of the video, I'm going to show you how to install this into a hitch receiver. And you notice, also, it comes with this nice locking bolt. That'll secure the cover to the hitch.A few measurements on this: the face dimension, overall width from one end to the other is right at six inches. Height on it is three and a quarter inches tall. And again, we're going to go ahead and give you an example here.
We got a. Zoom out a little bit. You can see here's a two inch by two inch hitch receiver opening with the hitch pin hole right there.What you want to do is when you go to slide this in, you notice there's two holes that you can fit it to. If you put it to the first hole, you can see it still sticks out a little bit, and really none of the gaskets will fit there. If you push it into the next hole, then you'll have a better fit.What I'm going to do is I'm going to take the thinnest gasket and go ahead and slide that down.
And, it's good to use the gasket cause it'll help seal it and also keep it from making any noise. Then what we'll do is go ahead and slide it in all the way to that hole and it gives you a nice fit. Then what you'll do on this locking bolt, if you notice. We'll go ahead and unscrew this. The one sidled unscrew has the washer on it. If you notice. Let me just zoom in so you can see. This is a locking bolt because it has a triangular design that only these handles will fit in. Just like that. So, what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and put this locking bolt through there.Then, you'll take the bolt and the washer and put it in on this side, and you'll go ahead and start tightening it down. Then once you get it snug, just take your two wrenches here that align up to the triangular pattern, and just go ahead and snug it down to where nobody's going to be able to remove it. You can see it's secure in there. It's not going to move around. It has that gasket to help seal it and prevent any noise. Then you have a nice hitch cover on the back of your vehicle.That should do it for the review on the Lincoln MKZ metal trailer hitch receiver cover for two inch hitches.

Locking bolt set and foam gaskets included.Hitch cover came in Ford OEM packaging stating that it was for a 2" hitch. However, original order was for an 1-1/4". Contacted eTrailer.com customer support. They checked the part number, and told me to open package. The cover was, indeed, for an 1-1/4" hitch.
Did have an issue with securing the locking pin to the hitch. Had to remove 1-3/8" material from one of the locking wrench keys (These 2 keys have a specially cut triangular bit). This allowed me to secure the locking pin/cover.
eTrailer Customer Service is the best. They are very courteous, as well as, knowledgeable and helpful. The product is 1st Class Ford OEM, and am very happy with the purchase. Would definitely purchase from them again, and recommend them to a friend.
This is a recap of my first experience with etrailer.com and an order for the customized MKX Hitch-Cover. Please read through to the end; it's all good.
I placed my order and saw several shipping options with various price-points. Without any explanation of how long each would take or improve transit times, I picked Priority Mail.
Shortly, I received an email confirmation that it would "ship" in about seven days. Hmmm? I replied that I needed it DELIVERED in about seven days.
Within minutes, I get a response that it would be to their warehouse in two days and would be sent UPS Ground with assurance that would get it to me in two days. Michelle even credited back the difference between Priority and Ground. Nice.
True to her promise, the unit delivered in four days. Yea!
Not so fast, it didn't fit into my 2" hitch receiver. The insert was 1/8" too wide.
I sent photos of the unit sitting on a ruler to show the problem. Now, I was down to two days before my trip.
Michelle had her team pull units off the shelf and measure them. All were within spec, thankfully. A replacement unit was sent and arrived in the nick-of-time. She also provided a prepaid return label.

I have a set of Rock Tamer mud flaps that attach to my Class V hitch using a reducer. This adds about an inch of overall distance to the pin. No one that I know of makes a hitch cover that fits a Class IV or V hitch, and no one makes one with a shank that is long enough to work with my setup. I researched all of the brands that etrailer sells, and found this LFI brand had some possibilities. With the shank being attached to the plate with screws, I should be able to make a spacer and make this work. I cut a 1" piece of a 2" square tube that I salvaged from a piece of an old 5th wheel landing gear, and added it to the shank. I drilled a new hole in the shank and now have a hitch cover that I can use with or without my mud flaps. It would be great if I could get a longer shank from etrailer or from LFI preferably with no holes so I could custom drill my own, or with pre-drilled holes to my specification. Short of that, my solution works very well for my needs. Once again, etrailer came through, it just took a couple of hours of extra work. I am very happy with my final product. One other comment on the Class IV and Class V hitch. I like the "locking" pin that was included with this cover, however it is too short to work with the Class IV or V hitch. I wish they would supply a pin that is long enough to work with the hitch this particular cover would ultimately be used on.

It was easy to install and it fits PERFECTLY in the trailer hitch of my 2023 Explorer. Just In Case, I used the "thin" gasket (provided with the cover kit) to guarantee there won't be any "rattling" of the cover (NOTE: the gasket DID NOT "impede" insertion of the locking bolt!).
There are only 2 "nits" regarding the installation kit: 1) the "shank" of the provided bolt wrenches needs to be 1/2" (or so) LONGER to properly "clear" the ends of the cover; 2) the triangular "bits" of the wrenches "Almost Don't Fit" the matching holes in the bolt ends (i.e., they're a "scrooch" on the LARGE side).
Otherwise, it's a Great Investment to protect the inside of the trailer hitch from rust, etc. when not used.
I have a 2020 Chevy Silverado LTZ silver ice metallic. With advanced trailering package a Chevy bow tie light messes all the sensors in the rear of the truck. Anyways I looked for something else I found this Chevy Silverado hitch cover from you people. It is the best hitch cover I have ever seen, it is beautiful looks great on my truck or any Chevy I am very fussy it is better than anything I could buy in any automotive store I will buy more for my other chevys. PS. Make sure you lock it on receiver so no one will take that is how beautiful it is here is a picture of it
Only thing i thought you can do on your website was when ordering something put how long it will take to make it or to say not in stock but it take this long make and to get delivered to you but hitch was very nice looking can't complain about that so on that i gave excellent and it came packaged real nice and safe thanks for what your company did and i would order from you guy's again
I have been looking high and low for a new trailer hitch cover for my MKX. The original cover was plastic and broke about a year ago. The one I ordered is a good metal material and should last a long time. Placing the order was easy, and it arrived right on-time! Great job.

Bought this hitch cover my 2020 Ford Explorer and it looks great, product is also rust proof so it should look great for many years. have included a photo of hitch cover, however because it is chrome plated it shows a lot of reflections.
The cover is beautifully made and was easy to attach to hitch. The car looks complete! I was impressed at how well the cover was packaged for shipping- no chance for dings or scratches. Will definitely share this site with friends and neighbors. A satisfied customer.

I ordered a chrome trailer hitch cover. Katie D. was extremely helpful. She kept me informed of the progress of my back order, and also answered my questions about the product. I asked if the chrome was warranted against rust. She said she would find out and sure enough the next day I received an email from her saying it was. Like the fact the hitch cover is solidly made - prefer metal over plastic every time . Looks great on my explorer.

Hitch covers looks fantastic on my MKC. Car is velvet black and it adds some nice Crome. Order process was very straightforward. Product is extremely well made. Arrived sooner than expected. I would highly recommend this company.
