Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer, and today we're talking about the ClearPlus Signature Series wiper blades on our 2024 Hyundai Kona. Now this is gonna be a beam-style wiper blade, and what that means is this is gonna be a curved blade and the way it works is it's just applying a lot of pressure to the windshield. All windshield does have a little bit of curving to it, so it's nice for that, and to really show you what I'm talking about, if I lift up on here, you can really see that shape start to show, and that's just gonna set down and apply pressure throughout. Now one of the downsides to this style is we're not getting even pressure throughout. It's mainly being applied to these edges. This sensor is gonna have some, too, but it just won't have as much.

And then we're gonna have our rubber blade at the bottom and above that we're gonna have this kind of more of a shell. And this shell is nice because it's relatively aerodynamic, but the main thing I like about it is if you do get a lot of snow on here, it's not gonna build up too much and prevent you from using it. If you really think about it, another type of wiper blade that doesn't have that same benefit would be like the one we have here that comes standard on our vehicle. And that's 'cause we have all these holes in it, and all those holes can catch that snow and prevent you from using your wiper blades properly. Now, I think this is a pretty good option.

I definitely think there's some better options out there. I'm more of a hybrid-type of person because if you like that this has a lot of pressure to it, that's pretty nice. But a lot of times this is gonna have a lot of streaking to it. So a hybrid is also gonna have that ability to use that beam-style to apply that pressure, but also have the frame-style, too, because it'll distribute it throughout the whole blade. But let's take a closer look at it and see how it really holds up.

And to do that, I'm just gonna grab some water, spray our windshield, (water spraying) and see how it holds up. And, again, what I'm really looking for is if it's squeaking a whole lot, how it's holding up and if we have any streaking (car chiming) (windshields cleaning) So, so far, the one that comes standard is streaking, which is pretty common, but, honestly, I'm not seeing a whole lot of streaking coming from our ClearPlus wiper blade, too. It is making a little bit of noise. It's kind of hard to hear, but for what it is, I think it's still doing a really good job, especially compared to what comes standard on our vehicle. Now if you are curious to see what the installation process of this looks like, I can show you that real quick, too.

To do that we want to put our wiper blades in the park mode. So, I'll just hold down on this handle. If it doesn't work, then I'll just start up my vehicle, turn it off. And now I should be able to put this into park mode. There you go. I'll grab a towel. This towel is nice to have, or if you have any cardboard or anything like that, it's nice to have just 'cause when you're replacing these, you wanna make sure that we have this protected on the bottom just in case when we remove this, this arm doesn't hit your windshield and crack it. And to remove it, I'm just gonna press a tab on the end, then pull the blade towards me or down, and then take it off. I'd like to just let mine rest there and I can grab my new one, and it's just gonna be the reverse process. And we're gonna have one side that has a tab to it and another side that's rounded. So, to really show you what I'm talking about, I'll just slide this into place so it clicks on (metal clicking) just like that. And then I can just carefully rest this down. And it is not a bad idea to just try these out, repeat the same process on the other side, and see how they hold up, to make sure everything's wiping correctly.
