Installed easily on 2015 GMC 2500 HD double cab short bed. Plenty of clearance under the bed when ball is flipped. This system makes for a clean useable bed. When I was purchasing this I was concerned about clearance of a gooseneck hitch and my transfer tank. I have a 40 gal tank that sits back from the cab a bit over 20 inches, there’s plenty of clearance for a gooseneck with a fuel tank on this short bed. The hitch has held up perfectly over the last year. I haul around 12k on steep, washboard, gravel roads.

2016 GMC Sierra 2500

I think this gooseneck hitch is the best for newer Sierra/Silverado HD trucks. I installed it a week ago with the help of my father-in-law and his car lift. Took about 4 hours moving slowly and taking our time. Everything fit well and bolted right up. I also reinstalled the foil heat shield after removing one mounting ear. I did not drop the exhaust or the plastic heat shield and still got everything in.

I chose this specific kit because it did not require notching the bed seam when installing the rails. It also has a higher tongue load rating than the others and was cheaper.

The only major criticism I have is the pull wire and carriage bolts. My chassis has weld nuts and I would have preferred to use those over carriage bolts pulled into the chassis. I am thankful there were access holes almost inline with the mounting holes. That made it easy to put pressure on the bolt heads so they didn’t fall back. I also think the gasket around the big hole should be one piece to make it look cleaner. I used black silicone rtv to smooth the transition and adhere the gasket in place.

Overall I am completely satisfied with the kit and the help of Shawn B who got my order in, had it shipped that same day and followed up with me after delivery. Thanks etrailer and Shawn B.

Thank you for reaching out. Definitely love the reliability and durability of this hitch, also the added clearance. I have it mounted on my 40 foot enclosed race car trailer. We towed using it 35 to 40 times to and from race tracks in 2019. Hooking it up and disconnecting it every weekend. Never gave us a single issue.

2019 GMC Sierra 2500

I did the install myself on a 2019 GMC 2500 Short bed. I watched several videos before. I did not remove either mud shield or cut out/remove the heat shield. I chose not to install the chain holders since my Andersen Hitch has it's own tiedown bracket. My bed has a spray liner and therefore the edge covering would not fit the newly cut edges around the hole opening. So be sure to paint the exposed metal. In one of thg he videos a tech use a predrilled board as a guide during the drilling of the bed hole. This was a great idea. Since I chose to keep the heat shield installed I had to lift the main unit into place by sliding it up between the gas tank and rear differential unit. I think it would have been very helpful to have a tools required list before I started. Also, the tip about cleaning out the powdercoated threads was very good idea. Preptime, tapping threads, install and cleanup (tool put away) was over 6hrs....and I skipped a lot of disassembling a n.v d reassemble steps. Everything was straight forward and understandable. A lift would have been great but I used rear ramps which was enough. Make sure you get a step ladder for bed entry now. I expect it to work as expected. Seems very solid!

Wonderful customer service parts arrived as promised. The box was damaged doing ship but everything was still there. Very easy installation. The front rail and goose neck plate have a indention to clear fuel tank. The indention still rubs the fuel tank, I had to pry up on the rails before tightening the side mounts. Other then that everything else was pretty smooth.

Install was straight forward on 2017 silverado 3500hd. I chose this kit because I don't have to trim any part of the bed to slide the cross rails in. Watching the video helps prepare you a head of time of what you need and to expect. Shipment was quick and undamaged.

by: Luis09/03/2019

Perfect fit, really snug and tight. Good to have a jack laying around to lift the gooseneck into the right spot to fit bolts into their spots. Towed a 15k trailer to Texas with no complaints. Great gooseneck so far

2015 GMC Sierra 3500

Product is very good I’ve installed several of these hitches but this time the packaging was terrible. The crossmember bars were hanging out of the box the bolt packages were opened and I was missing bolt hardware to install the hitch. The wires used to pull the bolts through the frame one of them looked like it had been used and was all deformed to the point I couldn’t use it. Not sure if this was a restock hitch or what put all the packaging was terrible and missing parts.

by: Taylor 11/27/2023

I’ve had this hitch for about a year, and it’s great! It does exactly as it should. The only complaint is the red grip on the pull handle was basically sun faded and rotted after about 2 months.

Hitch was as promised. Installed by myself and fit perfect in a 2018 2500 HD Chevy. I lost a u-bolt spring during installation and CURT replaced it free of charge. etrailer employees were great and hitch was delivered quick. I highly recommend etrailer, CURT and this hitch.

2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Haven't used it yet but I'm sure it will perform just fine. Install was a pain but not technically difficult as long as you follow the video, the provided instructions aren't very helpful. I managed to remove and reinstall the exhaust heat shield instead of cutting it unlike one of the videos suggested. But the provided template for drilling the hole in the bed is very helpful and confidence building (I don't think the comparable B&W provides one, just measurements). I also like the double latch system on the ball and especially the hideaway feature. It is finished nicely with chrome, rubber ring for the bed, and black cap so it looks great as well inside the bed. I was missing some bolts and washers but etrailer sent them out ASAP! The only gripe of the product I have is they didn't utilize the factory weld nuts on my truck's frame for the factory installed hitch which would make the install a little easier/cleaner, and instead make you fish a bolt an washer through the frame. Probably a reason for that or maybe an oversight. But overall happy so far

by: Ann12/07/2020

This is the second hitch I’ve ordered from etrailer. This first one back in 2007 I had a GM dealer install. This recent one I installed all by myself! Very easy and straight forward instructions. Hardest part is the contortions you have to get yourself into. I did have a bit of an issue getting the plate itself over the gas tank. Video suggests lowering the tail pipe. Instead I just took out the bolt on the rear cross rail drivers side and loosened the passenger side. Swung the cross rail back, slipped the plate in and reinstalled the rear cross rail. Oh and the shipping was fast! Very, very pleased.

The video was extremely helpful. All holes lined up and installation went smoothly.

by: Eliseo05/29/2020

Instructions made this install easy for me. I am very capable and had no problems. Have hauled 14 foot dump trailer with sand or gravel and performance was excellent.

Eliseo

5/31/2021

Has worked out fine. Tab for lifting out ball from storage broke off but does not effect performance. Also tore apart the rubber cover while loading a bundle of plywood on my truck. Again no effect on performance.

Chevrolet Silverado

My hitch was delivered very fast, all necessary hardware and instructions were complete. It bolted up easily in my Silverado. The only thing not provided was a 4 inch hole saw for the hole in the bed. Installation was very straightforward and it has preformed flawlessly since I installed it.

by: Mitchell D03/23/2020

Still works great install was pretty straight forward and it’s a pretty clean unit (looks nice). My only complaint is the cover in the handle wore off in less then a year so it’s bare metal now.

Mitchell D.

4/4/2021

Love the ball my own complaint is the rubber cover on the handle wore off very quickly. Still functions great otherwise.

by: Phil09/14/2022

The picture enclosed show how package was received from UPS. Hardware was falling out of box and steel parts laying at bottom. Plastic bag that contained hardware had been torn open. It appears to be a customer return that was not probably repackaged. There are luckily only some washers missing. Customer service was very nice and apologized saying they would replace hitch but time doesn’t allow for that

by: Bob10/19/2023

I really like the product now that it is installed and operational. I had some difficulty getting all the holes to line up as tolerances were tight.

by: Rsroosa12/18/2020

Great hitch Installation was relatively easy. Great price compared to some others. Highly recommend

12/19/2021

Still Awesome, No problems.

by: Kevin06/08/2021

Hitch has a lot of slop in the receiver in bed you can hear it pop when you take off and pop sometimes when you stop . I don’t know if I got a bad one that has more tolerance or not but would not recommend if there are others with the same problem going on .

by: Norvin M07/09/2016
2016 Chevrolet Silverado-2500

Very satisfied with hitch . Installation was
Easy , except drill template was made improperly and extra measurements were required prior to drilling 4" ball hole.
Also would suggest that Curt should clean paint out of all threaded holes prior to shipping.

  • The only difference between the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C607-604 and Curt EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C611-624 for a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 is the center locator tool that comes with the EZr. This helps to drill out the center hitch ball hole but aside from that they are pretty much the same. I recommend the EZr because of the added tool but if you are a more experienced installer, you can get away without it and save some money.

2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

I installed this yesterday, along with the Companion 5th Wheel Hitch. Very good instructions, well written, great illustrations. Everything fit perfectly, no struggles with alignment. Very good hardware. Looks to be very sturdily built, the welds looks great.

One thing to look out for - on my 2016 Chev 3500 anyway, the exhaust is in the way of drilling the passenger side retractable chain hook holes. You will need an angle drill or drill with a flexible extension cable. Or get your steel rule out and do some serious measuring like I did and drill the holes from the top down. I drilled the accessible driver's side, then transposed those measurements to the passenger side and drilled from the top using a small drill. After hitting the hole, I used progressively larger drills until I found the edge of the 1/2" hole in the center plate, then hogged out the hole the rest of the way with a Dremel grinder. Not a big deal, just had to get a little creative.

Over all, excellent experience, from the purchase, the help from customer service (fantastic people!), fast delivery and easy install.

Highly recommended!

Install went easy, hitch works great. Only issue was the measurement to drill hole in bed of truck bed was off by ½".

by: Mark 10/04/2023

This is the second B&W Gooseneck hitch that I've owned. The original hitch that I owned was on my last truck and I never had an issue in 18 years of use. Installation is straightforward and etrailer's installation videos are very helpful. I don't think that you can buy a better hitch.

by: William07/20/2022

Very heavy duty product had a little difficulty getting some holes lined up but when it went together it was solid. Missing a couple 1/2 inch flat washers in the package but had some on hand so worked out ok. It’s heavy but that’s part of being a good safe hitch. Thanks etrailer and B&W

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

The installation videos are pretty accurate all around. Admittedly, this took me a little longer than the projected time frame, which I anticipated. Removing the driver side wheel well insert also made torquing the bolts there easier. Installation would likely be easier with a buddy, and reaching the torque specifications on several bolts was difficult with a standard 1/2 inch drive torque wrench, but it was all possible and fit 100% perfectly. Excellent conversion for my 3500 8foot bed. Next step is to get the matching fifth wheel hitch and purchase our dream RV.

by: Angry Johnny09/13/2018
2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

I installed this hitch on a 2018 Chevy HD 2500 WT Duramax model. I'll first start off that etrailer is awesome to deal with.
Instructions were correct with no issues. B & W makes a nice product and it is heavy duty.
Having installed one of these hitches before, I already knew what to look for, so that made my life a bit easier. The other thing that made my life easier was installing it on a new truck (700 miles) haha.

So, I will give a little tip to installers of this hitch. There is a cross bar that is threaded, that the center section bolts to(The rear crossbar). There is 6 pre-tapped holes. DO yourself a favor and run a tap through those holes first. B & W does not cover the holes before they powder coat the part, so inserting the bolts would be a real pain. Also, measure twice (or more) for the bed hole, you don't want to screw that up. Take the measurement from the edge of the bed where the tailgate is, NOT from the front of the bed. Other than that, everything else was good and the fit was perfect.
Sorry, I don't have more pics, but I didn't think, I would be doing a review, plus I was trying to get it done.
Took about 4 hours to install, including running the wiring harness kit (separate) for the gooseneck trailer.

As for my nickname (Angry Johnny) I only cursed once....lol

by: Mike07/26/2019
2019 GMC Sierra 2500

Looks to be made heavy duty I installed it at home in my garage fairly straight forward to do having never installed one haven’t had a chance to use it as I’m waiting on a trailer to be made
Note on install I did this laying on the floor I do recommend removing the rear tailpipe hanger and pulling down on the tailpipe to get extra room to slide the canter plate over the exhaust pipe also remove the composite shield on the spare and the spare tire I wasn’t in a hurry I took my time. Cutting the 4” hole I bought a new Milwaukee hole saw the teeth chipped and broke I don’t recommend it I have a 6’6” bed so the hole I cut was 44.75” plus 1/8th for the spray in liner DON’T use the factory dimple as you can see the instructions put my center just in front of the factory mark but it is centered

by: Clint H03/21/2017
2016 GMC Sierra 2500

I watched the video you guys had posted for my exact vehicle and that made the installation so much easier. Not that directions are hard to follow, but seeing it done live is the way to go. I'm one that likes to do things myself unless it's super cheap for an install, in this case everyone I talked to quoted around $350 to $450. My buddy and I did the install this past weekend and it turned out great. I hooked up to my gooseneck last night and im happy to say this hitch is awesome! Can't wait to show the wife how a gooseneck trailer rides so much better than a bumper pull, I'm trying to convince her to upgrade from a travel trailer to a fifth wheel, I think this will convince her.

Hitch has give no problems and was easy to install.
The only issue is when loaded heavy taking off and stopping there is a significant “pop” when the load shifts. I assume is need of lubricant on the ball where it sits in the receiver

1/26/2023

Oh, we do not want to be hearing popping noises while hauling heavy trailers. Yes, you can apply grease on all 4 corners of the ball. You will also need to verify that the bolts on the gooseneck are tight and torqued to spec on the frame. You can check out some of the installation instructions for the specs. If the bolts are all tight and the grease does not help, you can contact the manufacturer for further troubleshooting. I will send you their information and a copy of the instructions in an email.

The purchase went very well. I told Kyle what I wanted and he quickly determined the right model to fit my truck. I then bought a newer truck while out of state as my Shipment arrived at my house. Kyle sent me return labels and sent the new model to my house. It was easy. I’ll use etrailer again.

Exceptional quality product with great finish. All parts fit perfectly. The video showing the installation of the hitch was extremely helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend a buyer cut a hole in a board as the video suggests and use the board to guide the hole saw as it will jump around otherwise. The one suggestion I would make is for the manufacturer to provide a template for the four holes needed for the safety chain hooks. I could only reach one hole from underneath the truck, and that wasn’t easy. It would also be nice to have a car lift. My car lift has an airplane wing stored on it so I couldn’t use it. I did back the truck onto two ramps that raised it about 10 inches which was very helpful. All in all a reasonable do-it-yourself project - even for a 77 year old!
