T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.Excellent product as usual from etrailer. This is probably the third wiring adapter I’ve brought from etrailer & they’re always plug & play. The only thing that varies is where the connector is located in the vehicle. Luckily Subaru places them in an easy to reach location. Out new 2022 Outback was the easiest yet. The instructions say to “Store the 4-Flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use”. I don’t like the idea of it being closed in the tailgate when in use so I run it through an oval I cut in the spare tire well using a grommet and silicone sealant to ensure it says water tight. The extra wiring is secured to the back side of the bumper and just enough lead hanging out to connect to my utility trailer.
The product was boxed well and was the easiest thing to install! I purchased the wiring harness along with the trailer hitch. The trailer hitch was a little cumbersome but I was able to do the whole thing by myself. This is the second hitch/harness I have purchased from etrailer and I have had great success with both!

After a year and pulling many loads, both heavy and light, this set-up is still top notch. Everything is working great. I don’t believe there’s a simpler way to go about installing your own wiring harness.
It was a super easy install. The instructions said the connector on a 2022 Crosstrek was under the left side panels. Nope, it was under the center trim near the lock latch. Two minutes after I found it I was done. Super easy.
I wish that all of the companies that I deal with were as easy to work with! The staff is exceptional,making purchases a simple transaction. The install video was spot on made using my year and model of vechicle. The car to trailer wiring that I purchased is very well made and works perfectly. Thank you Etrailer.com for a simple transaction, I will be shopping with you again.
Hitch came in great shape! Got the car apart the fist time and the hardware was wrong??. I called customer service and they shipped me the right one very quickly. Hitch went on easily with minor issues. The trailer harness was literally a plug in job works perfect. On the Subaru wilderness I was able to use a straight hitch. Over all very pleased.

The wiring harness has been working perfectly
Installing this was SO EASY. I am not an electrician or a mechanic and have never modified any car before, but watching the installation video on the website was super helpful and I pretty much couldn't have done it without the video! I installed this in 30 minutes. I bet a person could do it even faster than that if they were more experienced than I am!
Installed hitch and wiring all went as expected a smooth easy install, everything works as advertised , the you tube video made the installation easy and the instructions were clear and understandable. We enjoy E-Trailer , will be ordering again soon . Thanks David
Looks good; not installed yet, which will be easy with the quick connector mated to the one provided in the vehicle.

It works fine in our 2019 Outback. It takes patience to fish out the vehicles installed connector if you dont want to remove the interior panel, risking damage to clips, fasteners, etc. But once done, its out of sight, out of mind, and most importantly, out of the way!
This was the easiest wiring installation I've ever experienced, just plug it in. Works great!
Easy to install with, E trailer instalation videos. Used for a small utility trailer many times over the last year with no problems.
I bought a Curt hitch for my Subaru Outback to allow me to mount a bike rack on it. Therefore I didn't think I'd need the tail light kit when I had it installed. I was wrong.
So adding the light kit later I wanted to install myself if possible. The guys at etrailer.com were great. The kit I thought I needed wasn't quite right for my needs, and they guided me to the proper model. It was inexpensive and easy to install-way easier than I ever imagined. The videos on-line clearly showed to process, and I think I got a professional looking job. Kudos to the etrailer team.
I purchased this hitch and a wiring harness for my Subaru Crosstrek to haul a small aluminum boat. The installation of the hitch was fairly easy, the lighting harness was easier!
I am quite pleased with the product and would recommend it to friends.
Very easy install the wiring kit on 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. I watched the e-trailer video first, ordered the part and trim tool in the video. It took 15 minutes to install.
Appears to be of quality construction. Plugs right into connector. Would be super if the flat 4pin plug would fit through round body plug! Not the fault of part!
he module in the middle was smaller than my last replacement, which failed (my Forester is getting old and I had a water leak that gets into the area where the module sits, which has since been sealed). The output wires leading to the 4-pin connector are labeled with their function, which helped me splice the existing wiring to the 4-pin connector, since the new harness has no body grommet under the spare tire, and it didn’t appear to be a standard grommet – I realize that would make the part unreturnable, but that was not an issue for me in this case. The bottom line is that the Subaru harness is a lot more expensive, and serves the same purpose, as this one, and the only thing the Subaru harness would add would be that grommet under the spare tire.
Fits great under my 2022 Subaru outback. It is hardly noticeable. I definitely would recommend this hitch. Great product for the price.
The most difficult part of installing this trailer wiring kit was removing all of the junk I accumulated in my rear compartment to access the connector harness.
Once I did it only took like 3 minutes to completely install and put the floor back in place.
It works flawlessly, but here's a little hint - do not allow your trailer 4-pin connector to be stored outside without a rubber insulating boot on ot to prevent corrosion or wasps from making a mud nest inside it. I use aluminum foil wrapped around in and dielectric grease.

well haven't put it in yet but the video tells me it should not be hard. I know i did the trailer hitch for my subaru forester that went easy.

Harness was fine Subaru not so good! Difficult to find connection, then it was in a poor location
Perfect fit and no issues. Online videos are great and make installation easy.
2020 Subaru Outback XT. Easy to install. Used some silicone sealant to secure the module where it would be out of the way and not liable to be damaged. Works well.

Well done with this product too. Everything you need is included in the order, other than an electric drill. Plenty of length too. I was able to run it through the grommet under the spare tire and link up to the trailer pin. I can’t stand the idea of just letting the wire run under the trunk hatch since it needs to be hooked up to my bike rack.
I have lost count of the number of tow hitches, etc. I’ve gotten from etrailer.com. All have been first class components and this wiring adapter was no exception. The video made it a simple installation. I don’t care for laying the harness across the tailgate opening. I prefer to run the harness down into the spare tire well and through one of the rubber plugs below the spare tire then right to the hitch itself. Works great!
Just like the video showed! I really liked the extra comments in the video that highlighted the possibility of getting the wires close to the muffler or tailpipe if routed through the bottom of the spare wheel well. I would have liked the part number for the connector tester to be included in the video. I would have purchased one with the wiring kit. Ended up going to a automotive store to pick one up. Great experience overall. Highly recommend
Everything arrived in great condition and a lot sooner than I expected. I was even able to install it over the weekend.
I love the way most of the hitch is tucked away, out of sight. Can't wait to tow my boat and get back on the water.
The trailer wiring harness was super easy to install and tuck's away while not in use.

I bought this trailer hitch for my new Subaru Outback. After watching the install video several times, it was very easy to install.
Electrically and mechanically everything works beautifully. It blends with the car, and I've had no trouble pulling my Jeep's 4x6 trailer to the county dump and hardware/garden stores.
The excellent quality, ease of installation and low price cannot be beat!

The wiring harness was just as described/expected, as was the installation process. Worked great for the first tow of my new trailer, but I can't speak to reliability or longevity.

Ordered hitch from etrailer it arrived quickly. I waited to to install until the weather warmed up, paperwork says install time for expert 30 minutes, novice 1 hour. I spent about 2 hours installing it by myself. the packaged parts contained all the parts needed for install, along with threaded wire to help with install. the most difficult part was supping hitch into position, and applying flange nuts. had to use ratchet straps to pull into place.all in all anyone who has some mechanical ability should be able to install it.Note: you will need a torque wrench in final assembly.
This is the second etrailer hitch that I have installed. The how-to videos were extremely helpful. They have really gotten it down to a science and made the process very easy to follow.
Seems kinda hokie letting the wire stick out the deck lid. But it is what it is. I'll run the wires out the bottom and install the 4-way plug on Curt bracket. Easy to install plug and play.

Came as fast as lightning, the instructions for a 2018 Subaru forester were incorrect, the plug assembly is tied up on the drivers side aft most side wall panel, pictures added, not on floor as shown in the instructions and on etrailers video, took a bit of hunting to find it, but after that it took more time to clean up.
Curt T-Connector was the easiest trailer wiring harness to install. The instructions were perfect and so easy to follow. Very, very good product at a most reasonable price.
Fits perfectly. Easy to stash near spare tire when not used. Electrons flow through it and the trailer lights work.

Etrailer is my go to supplier of my towing needs and much more. I appreciate the quick and friendly service. My advice is check with Etrailer first before the parts house or big "Mart" stores.
Easy installed, no need to pull the kick plate but beware the two plugs on the foam cover are hard to pop out. No leverage on foam. pop straight up using the body tool. You natually want to pry, which damaged the foam board.
It works well, but the wire harnes is slightly shorter than what’s on the video. I was unable to tuck the module with the two sided tape the same was as the video.
This was an easy solution when I installed the hitch to my 2020 Outback. Works as advertised.
Installing this harness could not have been easier. This is a plug-in unit and the installation video was excellent, though I didn't feel the need to take the long strip over the lock off. I installed it coming through the hatch. It would have taken a lot less time if my lady friend hadn't been texting me.
Works well, easy to install. Installation tip not mentioned in the video - Rear trim piece must be pulled out (toward front of car) before pulling up.

It’s been a year now and it still works like a charm with NO issues
